This piece explores the complexity of human relationships. A marionette and puppet master, a dance of dominance. The bronze frame shows a beautiful and simple two-dimensional way to frame the more complex three-dimensional dynamic. No matter how much we would like to make human relationships simple and frame them in a pretty one- or two-dimensional way, they keep jumping out of these frames forcing us to look at them. The frames and figures cast a plethora of shadows. The patina on the bronze frame is a rich tortoise-shell of reds and gold’s -- setting off the smooth red and chocolate tones of the figures.
